“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”
General Information
Fee
I have a standard fee per session and we can discuss that during the initial consultation. Payment options include personal checks, cash, and Zelle.
Sessions
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and are usually held once per week. We may, however, decide to increase the frequency of sessions depending on your presenting concern. I am available for in-person meetings as well as video sessions via Zoom.
Cancellation policy
Once an appointment has been scheduled you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide 24-hours advance notice of cancellation. Please note that your insurance will not cover late cancellations and that you will be responsible for the full amount.
Insurance
Coverage
Sessions may be covered by PPO insurance plans. I am an out-of-network provider for all PPO insurances which means that, depending on your particular plan, I can provide you with a “superbill” to reduce your out of pocket expense. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
Questions to ask your Insurance Company
Prior to your first session, I recommend that you contact your insurance company and ask the following questions:
Do I have outpatient mental health coverage?
How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?
What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained by an out-of-network provider?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
